(25 January 2017) The third business and Italian business community in China (Beijing, January 13-15) occasioned the signing of agreement between the Interuniversity Consortium AlmaLaurea, AlmaLaurea Srl, and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China (CCIC). This agreement favours placements for Italian graduates in China and Chinese graduates in Italy, and more broadly, to develop and strengthen university-business relations in both countries. This partnership’s objective is to facilitate the search for qualified candidates for companies affiliated to the Chamber of Commerce and at the same time to offer more opportunities to recent graduates interested in working in China or Italy. The agreement was signed after a preliminary collaboration that was launched for the third edition of the Beijing Career Day on 15 May 2016 with the support of the Italian Embassy in Beijing to promote joint activities. According to data from AlmaLaurea, 10% of Italian graduates in 2015 have studied abroad, 2.9% of which chose China (in 2005 only 0.9%). According to the Anagrafe Nazionale degli Studenti (National Student Registry), in the 2014-2015 academic year foreign students who chose Italy as a study abroad destination were less than 4%, approximately 11,500. More than 1,200 or 11% are from China. A percentage that increases each year. Only five years ago it was 6%.
