Nuremberg – Tiziano Scarpa, one of the most popular Italian contemporary writers, presented yesterday in Nuremberg his book “Stabat Mater”, published in Italy by Einaudi in 2008 and in 2009 in Germany by the publisher Klaus Wagenbach of Berlin. With this book Scarpa won the Strega Prize in 2009. The title is a clear reference to the homonymous work of Antonio Vivaldi. The presentation of the book took place in the baroque St. Egidienkirche in Nuremberg and was accompanied by music of Vivaldi played by students of the Hochschule für Musik (Superior School of Music) in Nuremberg conducted by Prof. Elisabeth Scholl. The evening was moderated by Hans-Peter Weigel, in charge of cultural events in Nuremberg for the diocese of Bamberg. The event was organized by the Library Jakob Nuremberg in collaboration with the Società Dante Alighieri – Nuremberg Committee – and the Office of Pastoral Care of Bamberg Diocese. (9colonne)
