Washington – “Carnival Horizon”, the new vessel for Carnival Cruise Line (brand of US group Carnival Corporation, the world’s first operator of the cruise industry) it was launched today at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Marghera. Now begins the phase of interior construction, which will lead to the delivery of the ship in spring 2018. According to an ancient seafaring costume, the launch was preceded by the traditional well-wishing “coin ceremony”, consisting in laying a silver dollar on the last deck of the ship. Godmother of the ceremony was Clementina Zecchin, employee of the Marghera’s shipyard. The new unit, the sister ship of “Carnival Vista”, the largest ship ever built by Fincantieri for Carnival Cruise Line fleet delivered in Monfalcone in April 2016, will have a gross tonnage of 133,500 tons, it will be 323 meters long and can accommodate edge over 6,400 people, including passengers and crew.
