Brussels. The president of the regional council of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Franco Iacop, participated in the Plenary Assembly of the European Committee of the Regions in Brussels where the central theme was the negotiation between the EU and the United Kingdom for the latter’s exit from the EU, with three central aspects: on the one hand unity among the 27 remaining countries, transparency in public debate, close cooperation between all European institutions. On the other hand, elimination of uncertainties created by Brexit for local institutions, new territories at the EU border, and citizens. Futhermore, that the negotiating parties should always have the rights of citizens in mind. (9Colonne)
