(2 May 2017) The photography exhibition “Dolomites – The world’s heart of stone” will be inaugurated on 3 May at 18:00 at the Galerie Novoměstské radnice in Prague. The exhibition stems from the collaboration between National Geographic Czech Republic, the Italian Embassy in Prague and the UNESCO Dolomiti Foundation and pays tribute to the Dolomites with 50 photographs by photographer Georg Tappeiner who will bring the visitors through the places that UNESCO has included in the 2009 World Heritage List. The exhibition, organised with the collaboration of the Italian Cultural Institute in Prague, will remain open to the public until 28 May. With a Hasselblad camera, Tappeiner has captured images that emanate an archaic force, succeeding in capturing the fleeting course of meteors, which illuminate the monumental sides of the Dolomites with their lightning. This is a touring photography exhibition that last year saw the UNESCO Dolomites as protagonists in Zagreb, at the National Archaeological Museum. (Red)
