Tehran – Italy is the Guest Country of Honour at the Teheran Book International Fair until 13 May in Teheran. It has been 50 years since Italo Calvino’s first publication and the translation of his “The Calved Viscount”, and 22 years since his death. On Sunday, 7 May the great writer will be the centre of a discussion with the essayist and literary critic, Marco Belpoliti. Calvino’s work will be a point of departure for a wider discussion on the classics of Italian literature translated in Iran, with the contribution of Antonia Shoraka (Department of Italian Language at the Islamic Azad University in Tehran).
