Muscat – Next Year the Arena foundation returns to Oman after its extraordinary achievements in October 2011 with the inauguration of the first Gulf opera theater (and second in the Arab world after the Cairo Opera) with “Turandot” of Puccini in the Franco Zeffirelli staging, received again in 2015 with a standing ovation, and in 2014 with Bellini “I Capuleti e i Montecchi” directed by Arnaud Bernard. The invitation by the Royal Opera House of Muscat – of which is General and Artistic Manager the Italian Umberto Fanni – to carry out a production by the Arena di Verona foundation confirms the close and intense collaboration between the two theaters and the great attention to opera payed by Oman. In the evening of Thursday 18 and Saturday 20 January 2018 over 175 elements from Orchestra, Choir, Technical Personnel and Mimes will then revive the elegant staging of “La Sonnambula” by Vincenzo Bellini designed in 2007 by the ingenious Argentine director Hugo de Ana.
