Decani. Italian militants in the KFOR mission in the past few days have completed training for crowd control and public order management in case of hostile congregation of masses near the Decani Monastery, declared a UNESCO World Heritage and protected by the KFOR contingent. The exercise saw the involvement of a Multinational Battalion of the 3rd Mountain Artillery Regiment of the Alpine Brigade “Julia” – a reconnaissance and surveillance unit operated by remote pilot aircraft of the 41st “Cordenons” Regiment, and manoeuvre units composed of Italian, Slovenian, and Austrian soldiers reinforced by a Hungarian Company. The training tested the MNBG-W’s rapid reaction capability, first responder, in case of disturbances of public order and possible escalation of violence near a sensitive area such as the Monastery of Decani.
