North Cape – Biking from Bologna to Cape North, the northernmost point of Europe. This is the challenge awaiting Mara Magni, a Ph.D. student from the University of Bologna and a Terracini in Transition activist. 4,200 kilometers for 26 days of travel riding across Italy, Austria, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Finland, to the island of Magerøya, Norway, where is the northernmost point of the continent. Mara’s project is born not only as a personal challenge, but also with the aim of promoting cycling mobility and environmental sustainability. She’s supported by the University of Bologna, with rector Francesco Ubertini who wished good luck to the PhD student before she leaves. (9colonne)
