Kasserine. Strengthening the participation of women and young people in consolidating Tunisia’s democratic transition, also in view of the first local elections, scheduled for May 2018: the “Décentralisation et participation en Tunisie” training course at the Maison des Associations in Kasserine (Tunisia), organised by the University of Siena in collaboration with the Université de Sousse and the Association Tunisienne de Droit Constitutionnel; co-funded by the Tuscany Region. The course is divided into two modules: one on the new Tunisian Constitution and the theme of decentralisation and participation. Each module offers five lessons, held by Tunisian and Italian professors who are experts in constitutional law and transmitted to Kasserine in TV education. The initiative targets about 20 participants, mostly women and young people, selected from civil society of Kasserine through the collaboration of a local tutor. The training activity is part of the project “Women and Youth: Decentralisation and Participation in Tunisia”, and represents a new stage of activities that the research and training group on public law, European and comparative law (DIPEC) of the University of Siena, has for many years practiced in Tunisia within the decentralised cooperation of the Tuscany Region, along with the process of democratisation.
