Paris. Today, Minister of Cultural Activities and Tourism, Dario Franceschini, will receive the légion d’honneur from the French Minister of Culture and Communication Françoise Nyssen for Italy’s efforts in the protection of international cultural heritage. It all started in 2015 with the Declaration of Milan signed at the summit with 80 Ministers of Cultures at Expo, followed by UNESCO with the establishment of the Blue Helmets of the Unite4Heritage task force and culminated in the UN Resolution 2347 in March 2017 which will lead to include a cultural unit within peacekeeping missions; and by the Declaration of Florence at the G7 Culture. Thanks to these efforts, protection of global cultural heritage is increasingly on the global agenda. The awards ceremony will take place at the French Ministry of Culture at 17:20. (9colonne)
