Montreal. The Italian Institute of Culture in Montreal organised – on September 20th at 18:00 – a meeting with the author Roberto Bui, a member of the Bolognese writer collective, Wu Ming. The evening will see Bui debate with the public in a questions and answers session with the director of the Institute, Francesco D’Arelli and professors Eugenio Bolongaro and Giuliana Minghelli from the Languages, Literatures, and Cultures department of McGill University, who contributed to the organisation of the event. Wu Ming, active since 2000, has published several successful and relevant novels in the contemporary literary scene, such as 54, Manituana, and The Sleepwalker’s Army. Their next publication, Proletkult, will be released next October. The activity of the Wu Ming is not limited to the publication of books written collectively, but is disseminated both online, where their blog Giap is a point of reference for the community of their (and others) readers; and off-line, where conferences, meetings and presentations feed a stimulating exchange between writers and those who follow them. As a “soloist,” Bui – Wu Ming 1 – has published New Thing, 100 Year Northeast, and A Journey we don’t Promise will be Brief. (9Colonne)
