Beijing – To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Gioacchino Rossini’s death, the Italian Embassy in Beijing and the Italian Cultural Institute organized a day to remember his role as musician and gourmet. To better know the love of the brilliant artist for good food, the day opened with the conference ” Gioacchino Rossini, compositore e maestro nell’Olimpo dei gourmet “, held by professor Tommaso Lucchetti from the University of Parma. Then followed a tasting of samples taken from Rossini’s recipe books e and the concert “Rossini Opera Gala”. “Italy is a cultural and musical superpower. Today’s concert confirms how the excellent cooperation with the Chinese authorities in this important sector allows us to offer high-level events and make the Chinese public appreciate the best of our artistic production”, said Ambassador of Italy in China Ettore Sequi.
