Oct. 17 – Over 140.000 guests are expected at the Salone Internazionale dell’Alimentazione – an International Food Fair taking place in Paris from October 21 to October 25. The Fair represents today one of the most prestigious food events in the world, as it is open only to professionals in the business. Founded in 1964 in Paris, the attendance rate for this year’s event is 5.900 displayers from over 100 countries. The Verona Chamber of Commerce will participate with its own stand, exhibiting the excellent products of the region and hosting 10 oil, rise, bakery, pickle and fresh pasta companies.
The Fair will also be the perfect occasion to present to a global audience the winning wine of the Verona Wine Top contest, at its 9th edition. Alessandro Bianchi, president of the Chamber of Commerce in Verona says, “it is worth reminding people that Italy is France’s fifth supply country, and France is Verona’s second export market, after Germany. In 2011, our food and wine exports to France increased by 15,2% compared to 2010 – an important fact, considering the current economic contraction.”
