Jan. 21 – The Palazzo Broletto of Pavia, within its dedicated area to Contemporary Arts, is displaying, until January 26, the pictures taken by the Master in Development Cooperation students at the University of Pavia during their study trip to the Palestinian Territories. These photographs offer a unique opportunity to understand the reasons behind the conflict and to learn of the non-governmental organizations that carry out development projects. The photo-stories also include the mandatory internship period the students carried out in the field of cooperation. Returning to Italy, the professional photographer Riccardo Nosvelli helped the students in the photo selection and followed the post-production and printing for the realization of the exhibition. Entry to the exhibition is based on a free offer and the proceeds will be used to finance the second phase of the project “Eye to the Future,” (E2F) implemented by CARE International, West Bank and Gaza. “Eye to the Future” is a project to support children and young people of Gaza, focused on the development of active citizenship and the creation of a peaceful and balanced environment for Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip, who will most likely experience a very high level of poverty and will be strongly affected by the recent bombings. The first phase of E2F began in 2009 and involved 2400 children, their parents and other Palestinian youth trained to play the role of educators. The second phase of the project provides the strengthening of social networks and the improvement of the adaptability of young beneficiaries. To illustrate the design and the pictures in the exhibition, a meeting with the authors will be held on Thursday at 6pm in the Broletto Palace of Pavia.
