Mar. 6 – It all began in mid-January with the Caravan Motor Touristik of Stuttgart, and it continued until the end of February with the F.re.e of Munich. From today, it will continue (until Sunday 10th) with the prestigious ITB Berlin. On three different platforms, over a period of less than two months, Sardinia’s tourism promotion agency has displayed the holiday island in three of the most populous cities in Germany, from which Sardinia’s largest tourist inflow comes from: a strong and friendly market that every year sends more than one million visitors. The Germans, not surprisingly, have contributed to the substantial growth of foreign tourism in the island over the last two years (+2.5% in 2012 and +9% in 2011). The final showroom in the German market is the 47th edition of the Berlin International Stock Exchange, the largest trade show in Germany, and one of the most important in Europe, attended last year by 10,644 international exhibitors and 172 000 professionals visitors and the public (with an average of almost 25 thousand per day): these numbers are repeated in every edition of the ITB. Forty Sardinian operators (institutions, associations and tourist associations, hotels, hotel chains, hotel and residential spread, tour operators, service companies and management), accredited by the Regional Tourism Agency, will showcase their offerings for ENIT, a broad representation of professionals islanders, especially in the accommodation sector.
