May 10 – The Ministry of Economic Development and CRUI (the Conference of Italian University Deans) began cooperating to train young people to support Italian companies in Libya and Tunisia. The aims are: increasing growth of human resources in professional fields useful for the development of the two countries (stressing the role of integration, cohesion and social cooperation); and reviving the Italian productive sector by increasing competitiveness and productivity. Lymit in 2012 and Tunit in 2013 are the two projects resulting from the political and economic restructuring of the Arab Spring and there is to create new opportunities for the two countries of the Mediterranean. Students were offered job opportunities associated with the resumption of production and business activities of small and medium-sized Italian companies. These are, in turn, able to find a trained workforce able to support them in project management and production processes. A meeting to be held May 14 at the CRUI headquarters in Piazza Rondanini in Rome will see several actors present the projects: Marco Mancini, President of CRUI and the CRUI Foundation, Naceur Mestiri, Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia in Italy, Pietro Celi, general manager for Policies of internationalization and the promotion of trade at the Ministry of Economic Development, Bernardino Chiaia, from the Politecnico di Torino and scientific manager for Tunit.
