May 31 – “Italy Forward offers Umbria the possibility of taking another step towards institutionalizing its ‘brand’.” Umbria will be in New York June 2-9 to participate in Italy Forward, one of the numerous events organized for the year of Italian culture in the U.S. The Region affirms in a statement: “The program carried out by the Foreign Ministry and the U.S. State Department provides one year of initiatives, offering an ideal trip across modern Italy and its excellence, powered by its unique past and constantly renewing itself, looking to the future. Italy Forward is a trip to Italy to learn how culture and territorial realities become a creative workshop for a coherent redefinition of what Made in Italy products want to represent.” Umbria’s presence in New York concludes the first half of the year’s initiatives with an exceptional week of concerts by the biggest stars of Italian jazz music and Umbria Jazz.
