June 13 – Seven Salento enological companies will participate in the Bordeaux Vinexpo, the long-awaited biennial wine event opening on June 16th and continuing until June 20th at the Parc des Expositions. The Puglia producers will be busy with professional and trade business meetings, a new opportunity to present the new and promising wine prospects of the region. During the fair, the Puglia Best Wine Consortium will offer a tasting of great regional red wines: Negroamaro and Primitivo. The selected audience of Italian and foreign journalists will get a taste of the five best DOC and IGT Salento wines in a tasting point in the common area of the Consortium. On June18, from 12.30 to 2pm, the Tastin Lab of Hall2 will host the selected labels in the seminar “Negroamaro and Primitivo: fine sun-kissed red wines,” edited by the British wine writer Stephen Brook and addressed to a selected audience of operators, buyers and journalists. “The quality wines of Salento enjoy today international recognition centered essentially around Primitivo and Negroamaro – says Luigi Rubino, president of the Consortium Puglia Best Wine – These two varieties have allowed us to invest in agriculture, in wine cantinas and in communication projects. We are in Bordeaux to represent a production system that chosen to stress its tradition, territory, and identity.” These are the seven wineries of the consortium that will take part at Vinexpo 2013: Agricole Vallone, Candido, Consorzio Produttori Vini di Manduria, Conti Zecca, Cupertinum – Cantina Sociale Cooperativa di Copertino, Leone de Castris e Tenute Rubino.
