Aug. 13 – Food for many is a mere necessity, but for many others it’s an essential component of their lives and culture. Among the many cliches surrounding Italians living abroad, the one about a certain obsession with good food, pasta and wine is more a source of pride than shame. The relationship between Italians and food is an intimate relation that dates back to a centuries-long tradition. For this reason, in parallel with Berlitalia – Italia Terra Madre, to be held Sept. 7-8 in Potsdamer Platz, its Organizing Committee decided to host a special screening of the documentary film “Slow Food Story.” The movie will be availaboe for viewing at Cinema Arsenal, Potsdammerstrasse 2. Recently presented during the Berlin Film Festival, the documentary describes the history of the Slow Food movement. For the screenings of Saturday 7 and Sunday 8, the movie will be especially introduced by director Stefano Sardo, who will also be available, from 1 pm to 3 pm, to describe details and behind the scenes.
