Sept. 9 – May 31, 1972, Peteano, near Sagrado, in the province of Gorizia; the police received an anonymous phone call, a person says that they heard gunshots from the grove of the nearby countryside. Four soldiers go on site and find a Fiat 500 abandoned; unbeknownst to them, it’s packed with explosives. The trunk of the car hides a bomb and when the police try to open it, it explodes. Antonio Ferrero , Donato Poveromo and Franco Dongiovanni lost their lives in the massacre of Peteano. All three are 30 years old. The other policeman remained injured. The massacre was retold by the young director Cristian Gorizia Natoli with the documentary “Per mano ignota – Peteano una strage dimenticata.” Through memories, experiences and analysis of the historical moment in which the event took place (a very turbulent time in Italian history, when several terrorist acts took place), the director proposes an objective account of an event that has left an indelible mark on the Gorizia territory. There is also a direct testimony of the witnesses who lived through the massacre, marked forever by the episode. The documentary, created by Thunderground Glossy Film and Video Production YFF, was presented in Venice, Udine, Ferrara, Vicenza, Trieste and Rome. It continues its festival tour, stopping at the Festival Fedic Valdarno Cinema, an event held in San Giovanni Valdarno , in the province of Arezzo, September 25-28. But the month of September will also be marked with its international debut, as the documentary will be shown – for the first time abroad – in Buenos Aires on September 21. The appointment is at 5pm at the club Asociacion Italian Sardi States of Mendez de Andes, near the Ciudad Universitaria. The event is an opportunity not to forget one of the most dramatic episodes of violence of the 1970s.
