Sept. 23 – Sace, the financial insurance group active in supporting the internationalization of Italian companies, is kicking off a technical mission to Mumbai and New Delhi. “There will be three days of meetings with banks, businesses and economic analysts to explore the business opportunities in a country where Made in Italy products are yet to deliver their full potential,” said the group, which works with over 25,000 companies in more than 180 countries. The initiative is part of a series of events dedicated to Indian investments in Italy taking place in Mumbai, Chennai and New Delhi from today until September 26, organized by the Italian-Indian Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with, among others, with the Italian Embassy in New Delhi, Ice, Assocamere and Sace. For the latter, this is the second field mission to India organized since the beginning of 2013, thanks to a dedicated team and an office in Mumbai. In India Sace has in the works € 200 million worth of new operations, primarily in the fields of metallurgy, infrastructure and new industrial technologies essential to support the development process of the country. “The slowdown in the Indian economy is affecting the dynamics of our exports, with effects that will last probably in the coming months – said the president of Sace, Giovanni Castellaneta – On the export front we must expand our horizons and look beyond the current year. In India, there is a strong demand for Italian goods. I am thinking in particular of the potential of what we call the ‘new’ Made in Italy, medium-high technology in which we excel: from mechanics to machinery for metalworking and construction.” Tomorrow, this will be the central theme of Castellaneta’s intervention during the workshop “Why invest in Italy” in Mumbai, organized by ICE, the Embassy of Italy and the Italian-Indian Chamber of Commerce.
