(Oct. 15) – The “Sgarbi Collection”, which includes works “discovered” in 30 years of intense activity by the Italian art critic, is an heterogeneous collection that “is the sum of the Italian art, including painting and sculpture, from the XIII to the beginning of the XV century”, as the art historian Pietro Di Natale says. The collection will be on display through an exhibition project that will start in Spain and will travel around the world. The first stage will begin next October 18th in Burgos, where it will be inaugurated the exhibition “The Secret Garden – Grandes maestros de la pintura italiana en la colección Sgarbi”, curated by Javier Del Campo San José, with the scientific coordination of Pietro Di Natale, and open to the public until January 2014. The exhibition is a journey through seven centuries of history, through which it’s possible to find unique and valuable testimonies. “The story of a collection – writes Vittorio Sgarbi in the catalog of the exhibition – is an history of opportunities, encounters and discoveries, and it’s melt with with facts, researches and studies. It is an adventure, a hunt, a gambling. So a challenge and a conquest”. (red)
