Nov. 12 – A live operation will introduce the Microperc technique in Romania. Professor Giampaolo Bianchi, Director of Urology at the Hospital of Modena, will be the first Italian to perform the operation. Micropec allows you to break up kidney stones using a microfiber laser introduced through a tiny hole, whose dimensions are similar to those of the tip of a needle of a syringe. The operation will be presented tomorrow in Timisoara at the post-graduate Endourology of the Upper Urinary Tract course, promoted under the auspices of the European Society of Urology. The central role of the Modena team confirms the level of excellence achieved by the Hospital concerning the minimally invasive treatment of kidney stones. “At the clinic, we have these methods with which we treat more than 600 patients per year – says Bianchi – Our goal is to introduce the new technology as a routine procedure to improve performances; and, in this sense, preliminary data are encouraging.”
