Nov. 14 – Giuseppina Torre will participate in the final evening of the Los Angeles Music Awards. The Sicilian pianist and composer is running in the category ” International Artist of the Year and Instrumental Album ” with “Il Silenzio delle Stelle.” There is great anticipation for the event, scheduled for tonight at the Avalon Theater. The record, which is also Giuseppina Torre’s debut album, was released just a few weeks ago. The artist composed and produced the ten songs in the album, the result of a concert career that led Giuseppina to be known first as a classical music performer and later as a performer of her own compositions in New Classical Music. Since 1990, Giuseppina has performed in various Italian and foreign theaters and high schools: Catania, Ragusa, Sciclia, Ispica, Palermo, Rome, Munich, Cremona, Schaffhausen, Chur, Megeve , Chamonix , Lisbon , Barcelona, and Bucharest are just some cities in which she performed . In 1995 Torre participated as a guest of honor at the International Music at George Ferienkurse Neue Schule in Darmstadt, gaining critical acclaim. In 1997 she is given a Diploma of Honour at the Liceo Musicale “Ion Vidu ” of Timisoara. In 2010 Giuseppina Torre was selected to participate in the nineteenth edition of Ibla Grand Prize in the Composers Category. In 2010, she participated with great success at the ” Art and Taste Iblean ” – as part of the “Circuito del Mito ” – promoted by the Department of Tourism of the Region of Sicily.
