Jan. 14 – After exploring Verdi’s music with “The True Story of La Traviata” by Giuseppe Corrado Augias and Modugno, and the voyage through the art world with the conference by Annalisa Scarpa on “The female figurative culture in Italy,” the Dante Alighieri Committee of Monte-Carlo has teamed up with Laura Trimarchi. The Committee is inviting the public for an evening (tonight) on “Travel Plan – Reflections and comparisons between myth and reality.” The star of the evening at the Théâtre des Variétés of the Principality of Monaco is Francesco Baccini, who will present his theatrical concert “Baccini sings Tenco.” Confirming his leading role in the panorama of Italian music, Baccini accompanies viewers in the diverse “world of Luigi”. In fact, the show will highlight Luigi Tenco’s ironic, social and intimate facets. A discovery for many, the pleasant journey will take the audience back in time through immortal songs, lyrics and sounds reinterpreted with notes of jazz and bossa nova. An ambitious project, requiring both musical and historical research, it involved the collaboration of Armando Corsi, who was in charge of the arrangements of the show, the late Pepi Morgia, light designer and former director for Fabrizio De André, and many Italian and foreign artists. Francesco Baccini gives an image of Tenco ready for the third millennium, a singer and a man of strong colors: very far from that image in black and white which spread after his death. The theater and album project, which won 7 awards, including the Targa Tenco 2012 (for best actress), is another feather in the rich Monaco programming of the Dante Alighieri Society.
