Feb. 24 – Cooperation efforts between Malta and Umbria for the treatment of eating disorders are strengthened thanks to a memorandum of understanding on health care training and research on eating disorders and obesity. The MoU was signed in Malta, in the presence of the Vice-President of the Umbria Region, Carla Casciari, the No.1 Health Agency of Umbria and the Ministry of Health of Malta. The new document seeks to reinforce and follow up on the previous agreement signed by the President of the Umbria Region, Catiuscia Marini, which formalized the collaboration for the establishment and launch of the Malta Residential Centre “Dar il- Kenn.” The latter adopted the same model tested at the Todi Francisci center for eating disorders and obesity. The activities of the center are integrated within a multidisciplinary approach based on the individual, her history, her environment and her network of relations. For this reason, the No.1 Health Agency of Umbria will provide the Malta center with specific training, internships, mentoring, monitoring, and telephone counseling programs.
