Mar. 4 – Sardinia’s coasts, countryside and mountains, culture, art, gastronomy and crafts conclude their German tour and are ready to return home. From tomorrow until Sunday, Berlin will host the final promotional stop of the extremely successful tourist mission. Germany has always been Sardinia’s main tourist market, with 1.270 million visitors to the island in 2013 alone. The region will be present at the International Travel Trade Show Berlin (ITB), the leading trade fair in the country and one of the most important in Europe, after participating, two weeks ago, in Munich’s F.re.e. The Berlin date closes Sardinia’s “German campaign,” and constitutes a crucial event to carry out seasonal forecasts. Last year, about 11.000 exhibitors from 180 countries and over 170.000 visitors from industry insiders and the public (on average almost 35.000 per day) attended ITB. In Berlin, there will be 44 Sardinia accredited actors, representing all categories, especially the accommodation sector (hotels and hotel chains, residences and resorts, hotels and holiday homes), tourist services (tourist organizations and associations, tour operators and companies), who will display their offer in the stand allocated to the National Tourism Organization.
