Mar. 6 – Autogrill is already the world’s leading provider of food & beverage services for travellers. The Group operates mainly in airports and on motorways but also in railway stations, but the company isn’t satisfied with its already incredible success and continues its international expansion. The group, through the HMSHost International division, is settling down at the international airport in Abu Dhabi, the UAE’s second airport for passenger traffic and hub for the national carrier Etihad. Autogrill signed a contract for the management of 6 restaurants in the airport, which, it is estimated that in 2014-2019, will generate € 20 million in revenues. Autogrill’s presence in Asia and the Middle East is very strong, with its first steps dating back to the early 2000s with Malaysia, then in India in 2006, and later in Singapore. Over the past two years, Autogrill continued its expansion in Asian and the Middle East markets, starting operations in fast-growing economies and with high potential for the catering industry for travelers, such as Turkey, the UAE, Vietnam and Indonesia. To meet the needs of a multi- ethnic clientele, Abu Dhabi’s Autogrill will serve both brands in its own portfolio, already successfully sold in European airports, and international brands. Among the brands that will be sold after the inauguration in March at Terminal 3, there are: Urban Food Market; Cinnabon, a brand known for its confectionery; Barista, a cafe inspired by the tradition of Italian espresso; Flat White, an international café; and Grab & Fly, for take away.
