Mexico City – In order to strengthen the competitive position of Italian machinery in Mexico, the regions of Emilia-Romagna, Piedmont and Veneto have successfully submitted to the Ministry of Economic Development the project Mecamex- Italian Mechanics in Mexico, that has the ICE Agency as project supervisor. The Lombardy Region has asked to join the project, while Ucimu, Acimac Assocomaplast, FederUnacoma, the CNR, and SACE have shown interest in it. The project, which will develop its activities until December 31, 2015, will be managed through an integrated set of actions aimed at strengthening the presence of Italian mechanics in Mexico, particularly in the central states of the country, through extensive promotional activities, a constant presence in trade fairs, missions in Mexico with company visits and B2B meetings. The whole will be completed with the Regional Authorities getting in touch with the Mexican states of greater strategic interest. The main collective actions provide for the organization of two economic missions to Mexico and company visits; the attendance at two fairs in Mexico; the upgrading of competitive positioning with extensive market research; a feasibility study for the construction of a customer service center in the area of Bajio (central Mexico); and the organization of B2B two rounds and business visits in Italy with Mexican buyers and importers.
