June 4 – Research, innovation, sustainability and internationalization: the University of Siena decided to focus on this ambitious mix and now the Tuscan university has become part of the “International Sustainability Campus Network.” The ISCN is a worldwide network of universities committed to sustainability issues from the point of view of research and teaching; its annual conference is being held this week in Boston and the dean of the University of Siena, Angelo Riccaboni, is in attendance. Riccaboni presented yesterday at MIT, one of the leading research universities in the world with headquarters in Cambridge, the sustainability development model adopted by the University of Siena. “I’m honored – he said – to be here at MIT and Harvard in front of university representatives from around the world and introduce the model adopted by the University of Siena. This was possible because of the excellence in the region and the integration of sustainability policies into every aspect of human activity. Our sustainable research initiatives, teaching and services then bring about our leadership role on these issues in the Mediterranean, as network administrators for Med Solutions.”
