Apr. 23 – The University of Siena placed 366th among global higher education institutions, ranked by the URAP research laboratory of the Middle East Technical University in Ankara. The University of Siena is the 14th Italian institution, preceded only by larger universities. “The placement obtained – said the Dean Angelo Riccaboni – confirms that the University of Siena is among the most productive in the world in research. The value of this result also remains, as the ranking does not take into account the overall size of the institutions, showing that our university, medium-small, is able to compete with larger universities on all continents. Equally important is the positioning in the Italian ranking, where only larger universities precede the University of Siena. Hence, I am extremely pleased to share this outcome with all the colleagues who contributed to achieving it through their fruitful work, despite the progressive reduction in public funding for universities.”
