Santiago – From August 1 it will be possible to sign up to the first edition of “Sol d’Oro Southern Hemisphere,” an international competition devoted to extra virgin olive oils produced in countries south of the Equator, scheduled from September 29 to October 3 in Santiago de Chile. The initiative, sponsored by Veronafiere, mirrors the Northern Hemisphere competition, which has taken place for the past 12 years in Verona in late winter. Panel Cata Chile, a trade association in the South American country that promotes the consumption of quality olive oil, asked to have an international, southern, edition of the competition to ensure fair play to all participants and the same high standards of judgment. the award-winning oils will be featured in guided tastings, b2b meetings and walk around tastings, and their cards, as well as those of the companies that produced them, will be included in the publication “The stars of Sol d’Oro.” The flyer is then made available to the buyers coming in from all over the world. The Sol d’Oro Southern Hemisphere event will be itinerant: the following editions will be held in rotation in other olive oil producing countries south of the equator. (9Colonne)
