Tirana – The 10th archeological campaign at Hadrianopolis and the Drino valley sees the University of Macerata and Professor Roberto Perna lead the excavation operations. The dig sees the participation of the Albanian Archaeological Institute, directed by Dhimiter Çondi, with the collaboration of the Italian Honorary Consulate of Gjirokastra. This year an Oxford University group, led by Milena Melfi, will also take part in the mission. The main objective of the research – says the University of Macerata – is to continue excavations within the Roman city, of which the perimeter is now known, to conclude the study of the theater (of which the pavement of the orchestra has been completely restored), and to continue exploring the large Roman baths.
