The QS World University Rankings, available online, places the University of Siena between 471st and 480th place, actually improving the university’s ranking compared to previous years. Siena ranks 15th among other Italian universities, but is in first place for its exceptionally high national citation index. In the international citation index ranking, the university ranks 116th, confirming the high productivity and quality of its researchers. “I would like to highlight the performance of the University of Siena in the UK charts – said Dean Angelo Riccaboni – because this undoubtedly shows that we are one of the best educational institutions in the world, and consequently among the best in Italy. This achievement is even more important when considering the size of our university and the limited resources with which Italian researchers carry out their work.” The QS rankings, compiled by Quacquarelli Symonds, is among the most respected in the world: the ranking analyzes the top 863 universities in the world.
