Nov. 29 – The University of Siena participates in these days to the kick-off meeting of the project Biowaste4sp in Nairobi. The project, funded by the European Union, focuses on the development of sustainable processes to convert agricultural and food industry waste of some African states in energy (bioethanol and biogas), animal feed, fertilizer and other products with high economic value. These technologies are simple to use and are based on micro-organisms and machinery locally available. The project will last three years and will see the collaboration of 16 partners from 10 countries: four European countries (Denmark, Sweden, Italy and Turkey); one from Asia (Malaysia); and five African countries (Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco and South Africa).
