Apr. 23 – Trieste and Tehran are a little closer thanks to their research projects and academic cooperation. The Dean of the Italian university recently returned from Iran. Professor Maurizio Fermeglia signed a new partnership agreement with the Sharif University of Technology, one of the most important polytechnic university of the whole Middle East. Fermeglia expressed “great satisfaction with the signing of this new agreement in a country that is opening to the outside, as testified by some bright young Iranian researchers present in our university. On top of this, the great economic potential of the Asian country shouldn’t be underestimated – continues the Dean – as well as their strong interest in developing science and technology.” Fermeglia was accompanied in Tehran by the scientific and technological research collaborator of the university, Professor Michele Pipan, and Professor Angelo Bassi of the Physics Department of the University of Trieste.
