Addis Ababa – In Ethiopia, people born with mental and physical disabilities often have no access to necessary treatments and are excluded from education and work opportunities. This condition of isolation is often already established within the family, which doesn’t have the resources to ensure the care a disabled child requires, and is thus isolated because considered socially useless. For this reason, the Help for Life Foundation – crea created in 2006 from the 15-year experience of association Padova Ospitale Onlus – launched a campaign to raise awareness and funds through SMS to 45595, active until May 30. The donations will help complete the Wolkite day center for disabled persons in Gurage, in the south western region of Ethiopia. Here, the Foundation is building, in collaboration with the local diocese of Emdibir, a structure to accommodate children and adults with disabilities. (9colonne)
