June 11 – Music, songs, feasts, rituals, culture, memory, and tradition. This – and much more – will be discussed this evening in Beijing, where the Theater of the Italian Institute of Culture hosts at 7pm the presentation of the project “Stories of Italian masks and Trentino.” The cultural diffusion project by the Bottega Buffa Circus Vacanti involves two stages. The first is a meeting on the history of Commedia dell’Arte ancient and contemporary theatrical language (through a lesson-conference that introduces the milestones of this specific form of theater and its intertwining with the world of Italian and European regional folk traditions). The second stage focuses on the presentation of two footage scenes by the Bottega Buffa Circus Vacanti company starring actresses Veronica Risatti and Laura Mirone. La Bottega is a culture collective that is involved in the research, production and dissemination of Performing Arts and Music. La Bottega – founded in Trento in 2010 – is currently researching and recovering the rituals that are the basis of ancient community celebrations with the intent to safeguard and value them. (Red)
