August 21, 2015 – The Italian soldiers “have earned the trust of all the people of Kosovo acting with humanity, professionalism and courage. You represent a great country with thousands of soldiers in the most troubled areas of the world: your presence here is an example, especially today that Italy and Europe are facing an unprecedented crisis. Be aware of your role and continue to work with the same passion as always'” said Major General Marco Bertolini, commander of the Command of Operational Interforce, who met in Kosovo the military contingent of the Italian NATO mission in the Kosovo Force (KFOR). The Major General was received at the headquarters in Pristina by Major General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, who since August 7 commands the 5000 men and women from 31 nations that make up the KFOR. General Miglietta and his staff explained the current operational situation, while General Bertolini expressed words of appreciation for the KFOR commitment to contributing to the maintenance of peace and stability in Kosovo and in the Balkans, an area that has always been at the center of migration flows between the East and the West. The COI commander, accompanied by General Miglietta, then reached Pec / Peja, headquarter of the Multinational Battle Group West, of the 132nd Tank Regiment, and then visited the base of the Carabinieri of the Multinational Specialized Unit.
