(4 September, 2015) – Tokyo, Oslo and Palermo may be far away from each other, but they have been compared in a debate taking place in Buenos Aires. If there is anything uniting these three realities it’s their “relationship” to water. The conference “Three cities build their urban future on water” wants to highlight the importance of water in the development plans of the cities’ ports. The three cases and in particular the case of the Sicilian capital will be analyzed on September 10 at the XV International Biennial of Architecture of Buenos Aires (Av. Pueyrredón 2501, 2 ° piso) by the Italian professor and architect Maurizio Carta. The meeting is organized by the Italian Institute of Culture of Buenos Aires and is part of the cycle of conferences for the Biennale of Architecture scheduled for September 8-11. Carta, avid promoter of new theories and designer of the waterfront and the port / town connection in Palermo, is known as the Italian theorist of the creative city, for which he published the volume “Creative City. Dynamics, Innovations, Actions” (2007). He is also one of the signatories of the “Manifesto for culture” promoted by Il Sole 24 Ore. (Red)
