September 29th 2015 – On November 2, the world remembers the 40 years since the death of Pier Paolo Pasolini. And so, as part of the series of events planned to mark the Year of Italy in Latin America, the Consulate General of Italy in Rosario presents a film festival dedicated to the Italian visionary. The event, set up in collaboration with “El Cairo Cine Público” and the Ministerio de Innovación y Cultura de la Province Santa Fe, is a tribute to Pasolini the writer, the director and observer, who managed to stay at the forefront of intellectual avant-garde and at the same time become a “timeless and eternal contemporary.” “His words and his images – explains the Consulate in a statement – are still valid today, in this world that has changed so much, but that seems to have learned nothing.” The series takes place every Thursday of October, at 10.30pm, at “Cine El Cairo Público” of Rosario. The screenings begin with “Mamma Roma” (1/10), continue with “Notes for an African Orestes” (8/10), “The Hawks and the Sparrows” (15/10), “The Grim Reaper” (Bernardo Bertolucci’s directorial debut, based on a story by Pasolini (22/10), and concludes with “The Anger” (29/10).
