October 1st, 2015 – In the 1960s, the psychiatrist Franco Basaglia began a radical reform of psychiatry in Italy. In Germany, in the 1980s, the reform was much more cautious. These two approaches, their social antefacts and practical consequences will be compared in a Round Table on “Psychiatry in Italy and Germany in comparison”, scheduled for October 14 at the Italian Cultural Institute of Munich (7pm). The conference, in German, will include speakers Michael von Cranach, Lorenzo Toresini and, as moderator, Mariacarla Gadebusch Bondio. The event is promoted by the Italian Cultural Institute, the Department of Culture of the City of Munich, and the Forum Italia eV. (Red)
