Munich – As part of the initiatives for the 15th edition of the Week of Italian Language in the World, which this year centers around the theme “L’italiano della musica, la musica dell’italiano,” the Italian Cultural Institute of Munich has organized for Wednesday, October 21, the screening of the documentary film “Luigi Einaudi. Diario dell’Esilio Svizzero”. Fabian Matthias Osterwalder, Consul General of Switzerland, will give the introductory speech. In 1943, Luigi Einaudi (1874-1961) – the future first president of the Italian Republic – left Turin, occupied by the German army, and fled to Switzerland. In the diary of his exile, he says ‘the flight of peoples before the barbarian’. Based on the diary, Villi Hermann gives voice to the witnesses of the War, still alive today, and paints a portrait from an unusual perspective, according to which in the history of the Einaudi family, Italian history, literature and music intertwine.
