Washington – For the first time in 60 years, there is a new molecule in the man-made synthetic fibers market. This molecule could revolutionize the world of textiles, bringing Italy into the spotlight once again. Golden Lady, a company born in Castiglione delle Stiviere, counts 6,860 employees worldwide, of which about 3.000 in Italy. The Italian company has developed a new fiber that combines the best qualities of natural fibers with synthetic fibers: softness and freshness but also extreme durability and versatility. The important result was reached after five years of research conducted in collaboration with the Department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering of the Polytechnic of Milan and with the US company Invista, one of the largest manufacturers of chemical intermediates, polymers and fibers in the world. The research was fuelled by a total investment of more than €5 million, and the new fiber will be marketed under the brand NerinoG Fiber, in honor of the patron of the Golden Lady Group, Nerino Grassi, who strongly backed the project since its inception.
