Tunis – A real contribution to the social and economic development of Tunisia, the crossroads of the Mediterranean, comes from the Sardinia Region. The proposal, approved by the Conference of Regions, sees the new president of the Conference of Regions Stefano Bonaccini and the President Delegate for International Cooperation Francesco Pigliaru identify the best means with which the Regions can support the democratic process and economic development of Tunisia. In the proposal submitted by the Region of Sardinia it is indicated that “Tunisia is facing a severe economic crisis, as well as highly unstable and complex political challenges that have an impact not only on the very stability of the North African country but, more generally, on the whole Mediterranean basin”. On the horizon, in the belief that the Italian regions can make a valuable contribution to the cause of the Tunisian people, there is a three-year plan to encourage the development of large-scale projects in the fields of agriculture, rural development, social inclusion, health and welfare. The initiatives will be concentrated in the central areas of the country, in the governorates of Kasserine, Sidi Bouzid, Tataouine and Jendouba. (9Colonne)
