Sao Paulo – The San Daniele Prosciutto Consortium has just won a battle in the difficult was against counterfeiting. The Consortium, in Italy and abroad, carries out supervisory activities on the product and its brand for the protection of the PDO and consequently the final consumer. In Brazil, after an articulate legal case whose verdict was released on 8 March 2016 by the Court of Sao Paulo, the Consortium obtained the protected designation of origin “Prosciutto di San Daniele” against a known import and distribution company of Brazilian foodstuffs.
