Belgrade – It kicked off yesterday in Belgrade and will close its doors on April 7th (at the Yugoslav Film Archive, Uzun Mirkova 1) The seventeenth International festival of Archaeological Film, organized by the National Museum in Belgrade in cooperation with the local Italian Institute of Culture. The IIC is, in fact, one of the main promoters of the event since its first edition. The exhibition – as stated on the website of the Institute – offers industry experts and the general public the opportunity to learn about the latest products in the field of archeology. In particular, the Italian Cultural Institute in Belgrade participates in the 17th edition of the festival by supporting and promoting the presentation of documentaries, in Italian with subtitles in Serbian, dedicated to different places and times of the rich archaeological heritage of Italy. The first documentary that will be screened in Belgrade (Saturday, April 2) is “Verona Open City: Discovering the Roman city”: a Verona Archaeological Studies Center video-pilot project last year – with the support of the Veneto Region and the Province of Verona, in collaboration with the Archaeological Superintendence of Veneto – Marcello Peres and Nicola Tagliabue.
