Ljubljana – Thanks to the signing of an agreement between the Civil Protection of Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Arso-Environmental Agency of Slovenia cross-border cooperation will soon be enhanced in the hydro-meteorological monitoring and marine weather of neighboring areas to improve flood prediction and prevention and coastal risk. The regional government, at the proposal of the Regional Civil Protection Assessor Paolo Panontin, has authorized the central director of the PC to enter into the agreement, called “Understanding”, with Arso; an agreement with which the two structures are committed to improving the exchange of hydro-meteorological monitoring data in the Isonzo basin, and for sharing and the joint implementation of the “early warning” systems, i.e. forward-hydraulic modeling for hydraulic risk by extending the collaboration also with regard to the marine environment.
