(6 June 2016) A prestigious location such as the Italian Embassy’s in Switzerland and a special event such as Republic Day. In this context, Trentino has been invited as guest of honor at the event organised by the Embassy on June 5 in Bern. It is an important opportunity to promote tourism and Trentino food chains and to show what Trentino has to offer through images, flavors and products. The Italian Ambassador to Switzerland, Marco del Panta Ridolfi will be hosting, and who at the opening recalled Italy and Switzerland’s entertain excellent relations, marked by an intense economic, political, human and cultural relations, a common language and frequent relations that have seen Prime Minister Matteo Renzi inaugurate alongside Swiss authorities, the Gotthard tunnel, the longest one in the world. In his speech, the Ambassador explained Trentino’s invitation to lead the festivities of the Republic Day in Switzerland: “Trentino is a territorial system able to best represent Italy and to overcome certain perceived stereotypes of our country: a mountainous and innovative region, able to jointly enhance the beauty of the Alps – which are also a part of Switzerland- and its characteristic Italian hospitality, tourism and agri-food. ” (Red)
